This family-run bed and breakfast is a true respite for the weary. The rooms are lovely. The food is inspired and delicious. The scenery is amazing. Plenty to see and do, but I like to just take it easy when I visit.
My husband and I stayed here the night after our wedding! It was wonderful, we stayed in the Chesapeake Suit and it was very nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning was really good. You get a great warm and homey feel while staying here. The property is beautiful and one of the workers lets you walk there two cute dogs if you ask! I would recommend staying at the Inn at Tabb's Creek.
My visit was limited, but thoroughly enjoyable. I spent most of a day and night. Unfortunately it was raining, but the view of water and surroundings was so pleasant and the inn so cozy, I felt a million miles away from cares and responsibility. I hope to return when the weather is sunny and explore more of the surroundings. The breakfast was delicious and I went away with a blueberry muffin that was unforgettable.
My wife and I stayed at The Inn at Tabbs Creek for the fourth time last week -- a relaxing 5-day getaway. Everything was superb. We love the breakfasts, the peaceful surroundings, the attention to details in the rooms and other facilities, and good restaurants in the town of Mathews.
A repeat visit for us and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. Please check their website as it gives detailed information about amenities, things to do, and places to visit. I encourage you to read through and note the glowing reviews by others. They are accurate - the charm, the relaxation, the outstanding breakfasts, and the friendly welcome from Lori, Greg, and Dave are what make it 5 star. The gardens and views are beautiful and access to water is perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. If you choose to explore the area there are beaches, museums, restaurants all within easy driving distance. Make sure you spend some time in the town of Mathews while there. The Visitor Center, restaurants, farmers market (seasonal) and resident friendliness will make you glad you took the time.
We took a guided trip to the local lighthouse via kayaks. It was easy and very enjoyable. Do this!
